WAR - FOR WHY

This is a video made by my friend Kelly from Arizona, who I met in Second Life.
It made me cry.

  1. The school I work in is slap bang in the middle of an army barracks. 98% of our kids are army children and on Friday 13th October a significant number of their fathers are off to Afghanistan on a 6 month tour. You can imagine the atmosphere (and tears) round here.

    Have you seen this? http://www.iraqbodycount.net/

  3. Tommy, I'm sitting here bawling like a baby.

Such heartwrenchng photos. I talk via instant messaging to my friend who is in Iraq right now. My heart hurts for him and for all our boys over there.

  4. Thank you all for watching the vid. It's not easy is it. War and death are tough subjects. And sadness can be overwhelming sometimes.
As Sharon says, lets not forget either, all the Iraqis whose lives are now over or in total chaos.
    Love you all.

  5. 'War's good business so give your son...

And I'd rather have my country die for me'

(Grace Slick, a long time ago; after James Joyce, an even longer time ago. Sometimes I think we're one STUPID race)

  7. Awaiting - it's mainly about controlling future energy reserves.

  8. Tommy,

I watched the first few seconds and then clicked it off. Since my son is deployed and seeing a lot of "action," I don't think I could take it just now. Last week I went to the funeral of one of his buddies and it was a nightmare for me so I can't imagine how those parents felt.

  9. Carmy, I did think about warning you not to watch it. Sorry about that - I'll be more careful in future.

  10. Tommy, You are a dear, don't apologize. I'm a big girl and I know that I can't take this right now. If Pammy weren't around, well I'd send you a smooch.
